about

Possibly Dan's last completed album.

Dan said: "I'm almost finished with the upcoming breadwinter disc... though what's coming UP is pretty complicated stuff and may take yet LONGER to do."

And later"

"Find enclosed: one copy of 'Movey' by breadwinter (plus lyric sheets). Hope you like! A little under a year-and-a-half of work. I'm pretty happy with it, hope you'll be, too!"

Dan's Notes:

This CD was recorded between April 6, 2020 and September 29, 2021 at home on 16 track.

All music performed by breadwinter unless otherwise noted.

Copyright 2021 Mumble Mumble Music.

Musical reference to the "Mission Impossible" theme was made on track 2.

Among the sampled are: "The Photograph Murders" (a 1939 "Boston Blackie" radio show episode), 3 "One Step Beyond" episodes ("The Clown," "The Dark Room," and "Moment of Hate"), "Carnival of Souls," "The Man With The Golden Arm," and an episode of "The X Files" (I'm pretty sure) sampled years ago on my loop station (all on track 9).

"Poet" and "A Glimpse Of One Summer" are dedicated to Frank Rutledge, a great friend and fantastic guitarist and later on, an equally fantastic poet. I hung with Frank more during the guitar days. He had several books of poetry published, all wonderful stuff. Taught a class on the creative process as well. Try as I may, there's no way I could express the depths of our friendship and all the musical adventures we shared. While brief, I feel these two pieces capture some of that time frame, plus Frank got more into acoustic guitar later on. Anyway, hope that shows.

R.I.P., my good friend.

Special thanks to Ken Skrobot for the gift of the... as yet to be named 4 stringed acoustic (no fretboard) instrument! It's shaped like an old stock bicycle seat somewhat! Micky Saunders suggested it may be a harp (Thanks Micky!) and Ken himself doesn't know. A Gaelic harp, maybe? Any help on this? (On track 4.)

Guest vocalist on tracks 6, 11 and 13, as well as vocoder type vocals on track 3: Dan Susnara.

Thanks to: Jim Gorz and those who review and give airplay to indie music.

Hope you are all staying safe and healthy, you and yours. AND... hope you enjoy this disc!
